Dutchess County residents Robert W. Beebe, age 47, and Shannan Mead, age 33, both of Dover, were charged on Saturday, Oct. 14.

According to Trooper AJ Hicks of the New York State Police, the two were in a 2006 Volkswagon Jetta matching the description of a reported "suspicious" vehicle.

When stopped on Route 22 on North Nellie Hill Road, in Dover, an investigation by troopers found that Beebe was driving under the influence of drugs, and Mead was found to be in possession of 38 grams of crack cocaine, Hicks said.

Beebe was issued a uniform traffic ticket returnable to the town of Dover Court in November.

Mead was released on her own recognizance. She is scheduled to reappear before the court on Monday, Oct. 16.
